The aggregate consumable invoice from one or more cloud or SaaS providers, comprising base service charges, support fees, taxes, and any retained promotional credits. The cloud bill is the source of truth for variable infrastructure spend and the entry point for every FinOps inform pipeline. The federation requires the cloud bill to be reconciled to the general ledger monthly with variance over one percent investigated, and reconciled to the FinOps allocation system within five business days of receipt under UFMS-001:2.4(b). Bills must be retained per the regulatory floor.
A standard term of consumption-based billing; the modern usage stabilised with the rise of public cloud post-paid models in the early 2010s.
Federation members reconcile cloud bills to the GL monthly and to the allocation system within five business days. Variances above one percent are investigated and resolved before close. Retention follows the regulatory floor with extensions documented under MEV-Annex:3.2.
